Keder is the brand name and also the common name for the premium awning bead sewn onto the edge of vintage trailer and other awnings when attachin to a trailer awning rail. The Keder we sell is 8.5mm diameter and has a single flap 20mm wide for sewing. It is ideal for DIY awning projects.
The core of the Keder is made from exruded PVC to allow flexibility. The core is then wrapped in Keder fabric made of woven polyester with exposed fibers on the outside to allow Keder to easily slide into a retaining track. The fabric is very durable but also soft so if your machine can sew awning fabric, it can sew through the Keder flap.
The fabric is white but almost all the flap will be concealed after you sew it between layers of your fabric.
Priced and sold by the yard.
