This machined aluminum taillight canister replaces the rusty black steel cans found in the taillight assemblies of almost all 1969, 1970, 1971 and 1972 Airstreams and most 1973 and 1974 Airstreams.
The cans are machined from aircraft grade 6061-T651 aluminum billet and then anodized for further corrosion resistance. They will not rust.
This is a closeout item and we have only the 1156 single-filament bulb version available. It is typically used for the outer clear lens position. The 1157 version had an indexed two-filament bulb and is typically used for the inner red lens position, but it is no longer available.
Does not include lenses and gaskets, but clear 4-1/8" round lens (VTS-102) is a perfect fit. And don't forget our red reflectors (VTS-332). Old reflectors lose their reflective power as they age.
See the fourth photo to understand how canisters mount with two rivets through the back. Our reproduction is not pre-drilled on the back so that you can drill it to match your existing holes. It measures 4" in diameter and 1 1/8" deep.
